If
you're not familiar with some of the prophecy information I've placed on
NiceTiming, you may be wondering where I got it from... My interest originally began
around 40 years ago when I began attending the Worldwide Church of God, beginning on the
Sabbath after the Feast of Trumpets, 1969.
That original church has since
vanished, but many of the Worldwide Church of God splits I refer to are listed here or here.
More recently I've had cause to
study views from many other sources, but now they are too many to list here.
My views have changed over
time, and I believe that's a good thing. I've already corrected a number of errors on this website,
and will continue to update the site as fast as time permits, and truth is revealed to me.
Lately my views have changed a lot more quickly than I have been able to update pages
on this site, so I'm still in the middle of correcting some of the other pages here.
There have been more than two
interesting "coincidences" in my life, in relation to God's end time church.
I've detailed just two of them below. My flood miracle coincidence page is here.
(1) My birth date is very near
the start date of the second "19 year time cycle" that Mr. Herbert Armstrong so
often spoke about in relation to taking the gospel to the world, where the earth, moon and
sun return to the same approximate position of alignment with each other every 19 years.
Mr. Armstrong believed that the
taking of the TRUE gospel to this world, ---a gospel about man LITERALLY entering
into the GOD FAMILY, ---BEING LITERALLY BORN AS GOD'SCHILDREN--- and becoming a FAMILY- KINGDOM of GOD
BEINGS that are coming to RULE on this earth soon, replacing man's government with God's
family government--- Mr Armstrong believed THAT gospel had been suppressed
under a rubbish-heap of pagan superstition for nineteen hundred years, or one hundred
19 year time cycles before he himself took it around the world beginning when I
was born.
NINETY-NINE 19 year time
cycles after it began to be suppressed (see Gal. 1:6-7), Mr. Armstrong began
taking THAT gospel to America. Exactly ONE HUNDRED 19 year time cycles later,
to the entire world. The first World Tomorrow program to be broadcast outside America was
broadcast on Europe's most powerful radio station, Radio Luxembourg according to a set
time God had determined, according to Mr. Armstrong.
I was born at the turning
point of this period of ONE CENTURY of time cycles, that is, EXACTLY ONE HUNDRED nineteen
year time cycles since the beginning of 53 AD when the Bible says the gospel was
perverted. (Gal 1:6-7)
More precisely, I was born on
December 14, 1952, somewhere near the third try at recording the World Tomorrow
program that finally met requirements. That program aired on Radio Luxembourg on
Jan. 7th, 1953.
I first heard Mr. Herbert Armstrong on the radio in Victoria, Australia, around age 12,
and was deeply impressed. When I was about 16 I was asked to choose between joining the
SDA church, or the WCG. I chose the WCG, but now I believe God would have led me to His
important truths regardless of me choosing the more difficult path back then.
I was baptised at age 19, a
little before I turned 20, in 1972.
(2) I worked for the church in
the Worldwide Church of God regional headquarters office in Queensland, Australia, for ten
years in the 70's and 80's, in a clerical position.
During this period, I was one
of the few people who personally witnessed what might be considered the
fulfilment event of Mr. Armstrong's taking this gospel to the whole world, and speaking
privately with one third of all world leaders. (documented
here) I was present when Mr. Armstrong met with the Queensland Premier in
Australia at the time. ( know for a fact that a Bible issue was discussed at this
meeting, so it was not just Mr. Armstrong autograph hunting, as some may claim.)
Mr. Armstrong wrote that the
true gospel had now been proclaimed to the entire world, and in fact he mentioned
the Radio Luxembourg beginning (coincidentally around my birth date), with the dates and
the Scriptures pertaining to it, in his January 15th, 84 letter written to the
church two days after that meeting. This time period was at the completion
of 49 years, or 7 x 7 years publication of the Plain Truth magazine. (7 x 7,
of course, is Biblically significant.) Mr. Armstrong's next letter, dated
February 19th 1984, talks about the circulation growth to over six and a half million
copies for the 50th anniversary edition of the Plain Truth, which was a clear milestone
marker for the fulfilment of the gospel work at that time. To hear for yourself how
uniquely Mr. Armstrong delivered the gospel of the Kingdom of God message, watch this 5
minute video clip, produced in 1984:
Either personally, or
by use of the media, Herbert W. Armstrong did in fact take the gospel of the God
family Kingdom to all nations before the end of the age -- conceivably fulfilling the prophecy in Matthew 24:14... "And
this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all
nations; and then shall the end come." (The word 'then' is
fairly subjective, when viewed from a perspective of thousands of years.)
Coincidentally, I was born at
the beginning, and physically present at the fulfilment event of this
happening, and regardless of whether it's true or not, it influenced the way I thought
about things at the time, and still does to a large extent.
As a result of
the apostasy hitting the church, and a small miracle in my life at the time, in December
1991 I joined the first church to split away from the Worldwide Church of God after Mr.
Armstrong's death. I believe the 4 year time period before another church began actually
fulfilled a 4 year time period prophecy given by Christ in Luke 13:6-9. If this
was not fulfilled prophecy, then it is an astounding coincidence that it happened
exactly after 4 years. Later, as hard to comprehend as it may sound, I was disfellowshipped
from that church (from the church that is described in
Rev. 3:14 as the "church of the Laodiceans")
for one reason only, for being merely a witness to a perfectly
legitimate marriage that their ministry happened to disapprove of.
Since leaving the
"church of Laodicea" I've had a number of greater miracles in my life, such as
MY FLOOD MIRACLE >>> CLICK
HERE, convincing me that I made the right decision, but also convincing me that the
church "show" is not yet over - in fact, we have just gone through the
interval.
Although I basically
agree with many of the main doctrines of the Church of God splits and groups,
I've found they also have many doctrines that are INCORRECT, although in
some ways this is not as bad as it seems because brethren in these churches have
remained faithful to truth as they see it.
If you don't have a Radio
Church of God/or originalWorldwide Church of Godbackground you may research EARLY Herbert W. Armstrong - Worldwide Church of
God doctrinehere. In addition to the list of splits
linked to above, you can also read commentary and articles on the churches
written by Living Church of God member Bob Thiel at http://www.cogwriter.com, and /or commentary, articles, and books written by United Church of God
member Roger Waite at http://www.rogerswebsite.com. These men write
from a WCG split /Church of God perspective, and have written a large quantity of
literature that is helpful in following their (often misunderstood) perspective.
Meanwhile, my perspective
continues to expand!
